With over 30 years of outstanding American Sign Language interpreting services & quality interpreter support, Interpretek is continuing to bridge the communication gap for the Deaf and hard of hearing community.

Providing ASL Interpreting Services Since 1993

President and CEO Michael Rizzolo began Interpretek in 1993 with a vision of bridging the gap between the hearing and the Deaf communicators. He quickly earned a reputation for delivering outstanding quality services, high ethics, leadership, and dedication to the Deaf and hearing professional communities.

This respectability led to Interpretek becoming the largest and most recognized referral agency in the greater Rochester, NY region. Over time, we have grown to carry the same renown at a national level.

Our expertise goes beyond understanding American Sign Language – our knowledge of Deaf culture makes certain that we make appropriate choices when working with our clients.

Creating resources for interpreters

We provide quality training classes and produce Online Focus, a virtual resource for advancing your interpreting education with optional CEUs. If requested, Online Focus can also be utilized as college curriculum support. Interpretek is a trusted name when it comes to providing ASL interpreting services within our communities and beyond.

RIT College

Since 2007, Interpretek has supported an endowed scholarship at the Rochester Institute of Technology for interpreting students at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, providing financial aid to two deserving students annually.

RID

Interpretek is an approved Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Continuing Maintenance Program Sponsor for CEUs. We are also an RID and EIPA testing site.

BCRF

Interpretek sponsors year-round fundraising activities for breast cancer research and similar causes, raising money and actively participating in awareness events.
